What a pregnant woman should know about shortness of breath

  • Shortness of breath during pregnancy could mean that you have heart problems or lung problems

    WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

    Shortness of breath means that you are struggling to breathe in air, and that you have to take more breaths.

    For example: When walking to the shop you feel you have to stop to breathe and rest.

    Heart and lung problems are usually the cause of this shortness of breath.

    Seek help from a nurse, health care worker or doctor as soon as possible if you are short of breath.
