You must ensure that you gain the correct amount of weight for your body type during your pregnancy. “Eating for two” is not necessary and could lead to extra weight gain.
Eating double the amount that you would usually consume is not necessary and is likely to see you gain unnecessary extra weight which could lead to complications for you and your baby.
Severe weight gain during your pregnancy may cause serious heart problems for you and for your baby.
Visit your health care worker or doctor regularly when you are pregnant.
Make a note of your normal weight gain so you can keep track of weight gain during pregnancy.
