Shortness of breath during pregnancy can potentially harm your unborn baby. If you are experiencing trouble breathing, contact your health care professional.
What does it mean?
Shortness of breath means that you are struggling to breathe in air, and that you have to take more breaths to get enough oxygen. For example: When walking to the shop you feel you have to stop to breathe and rest?
What causes it?
Heart and lung problems are usually the cause of this shortness of breath.
What should I do?
Seek help from a nurse, health care worker or doctor as soon as possible if you continue to experience shortness of breath.
